Our process, step by step.
The first step is selecting the best part of each leather hide. Only clean, even-grained areas are chosen to ensure the quality and durability of the finished strap.
Each piece is hand-cut from the most premium, aesthetically flawless areas of the leather, following precise patterns for accuracy and consistency.
Leather skiving is a crucial step that requires skill and experience. The leather is carefully thinned to the appropriate thickness, ensuring the finished watch strap is comfortable, and refined.
A layer of Velodon SH-220 is placed inside the strap to enhance durability and strength, helping maintain its shape and resist cracking over time.
Golden Zermatt is our default lining leather, made from Alpine calfskin. This lining leather is also hand-skived to achieve the appropriate thickness
The layers are bonded together using a specialized adhesive designed for watch straps. A hammer and roller are then used to press the layers firmly together, creating a strong bond while preventing air bubbles and gaps.
Each strap is meticulously shaped by hand to achieve its final form. Skilled craftsmanship ensures precise dimensions and a perfect fit to the customer’s specifications.
Stitch holes are precisely punched to create even, secure stitching and a clean, refined finish.
Before the finishing process begins, each strap undergoes a thorough quality inspection. The strap’s thickness, shape, and dimensions are carefully checked to ensure they meet our standards.
Handdn uses the traditional saddle stitch technique. Sewn by hand with two needles and a single thread, it creates a strong, durable seam that remains secure even if one stitch is damaged.
A leather creaser is used to create a clean crease along the stitching line, enhancing the strap’s appearance while strengthening and defining the edges.
The strap edges are painted in multiple layers, with sanding between each coat to create a smooth, sealed finish. This process is repeated at least three times to achieve Handdn’s quality standards.
Both a fixed keeper and a free keeper are attached to each strap. They secure the excess strap length, creating a clean appearance and a comfortable fit.
A second quality inspection is carried out to check the overall finishing include: stitching, thread color, edge finishing.
Pin holes are precisely punched to securely attach the buckle and provide adjustable sizing. The hole size can also be customized to match your preferred buckle.
A buckle tongue hole is punched before the buckle is attached and tang buckle is provided as standard.

Shell Cordovan is not a product of modern efficiency. It undergoes a slow, traditional tanning process that takes up to six months to complete. This methodical approach preserves the tight cellular structure of the leather, allowing it to naturally resist deep wrinkling and maintain a natural sheen.
